Is it possible for your eyes to be bad one day and good the next?

Throughout the past few months my eyesight has been a little blurry when I look into the distance. But I noticed that it would be fine the next day. Like I could always read well from the distance but it would be a little fuzzy.

So today I went out for lunch with a friend and he was sitting with his back to the window. When he got up to pay the check, I grabbed his sunglasses and put them on. The trees were much, much clearer than before and people in the restaurant that were sitting further back from us were much sharper. When he got back he asked me if they hurt my eyes and I said no and I found out they were prescription sunglasses.

The same thing happened last night when I was looking through a screen at the trees. They seemed blurry and I couldn't make out the leaves but I just assumed that it was the screen until I put on his glasses. Then I could make out just about everything and could even see a hummingbird.

I never really thought about getting my eyes checked for distance until today. I never really thought my eyes were even bad before. Should I make an appointment to get my eyes checked out or am I just worrying ;)

  1. It is very possible for your vision to gradualy either improve or weaken it depends mostly on wether or not you need glasses or what you were doing earlier that may affect your vision example watching a movie withou the lights on negatively affects your vision because your eyes have to strain themselves to focus on the movie  which is the only thing giving out light that is why when you leave a movie theater your eyes are more sensitive they are trying to re-adjust to the increase of light.

  2. you should definitely get your eyes checked. i couldn't tell that i needed glasses because my eyes just got used to the increasing blurriness. then, i got glasses, and i was shocked to find out how bad my eyes actually were. :-P
