Is it possible i calculated ovulation wrong?

here's the details.

lmp 7/5/08

mid cycle spotting 7/15, 7/17, 7/18

ewcm 7/17-7/20 (i am assuming ovulation occurred around here-no opk or temp charting this month)

usually 28 day cycle and now on day 31. 3negative hpt (took one this am). I know if you period is delayed it is because ovulation was delayed but it doesn't add up to me. Any advice? Has anything similar happened to anybody? Any help is greatly appreciated?

On a 28 day cycle you should have ovulated around the 17 to 18, but it may have been a bit later.  You usually ovulate the last day you see ewcm, so that would have been the 20th.  If you did ovulate on the 20th then you are only 15 DPO.  Sometimes it takes a little longer for a preg. test to come back as positive.  My doctor wants me to wait until 18 DPO to test.  I would wait a couple of days and if AF hasn't shown take another test.

Stress?

The same thing happened to me.  I have been charting since May and always had 27 day cycles and ovulated on day 15.  This is the month we are trying and last month I had a 30 day cycle and ovulated on day 17.  What the heck????  So strange but I think it is because this month I am actually strssing about it.  Obsessive.... :)
