Is it possible my crush's friend is lieing?

Question

I really like this guy (lets call him .x.) and I'm so positive he likes me...

And one art lesson his friend asked me if I'd go out with .x. and I said "No!!" because it was so sudden. .x. was standing at the door way listening carefully to the conversation... "Why not hes hot!" His friend said... "No he isnt!" I lied... "well you asked me to dance at the social" .x. said and turned around and smiled at me...

Then in science about 2 weeks later (yesterday) I asked the same friend if .x. likes me and he said "Uhh don't... think... so" and looked to the side..

Then today he said "Oh yeah.. .x. likes you" (infront of 2 of his friends) and I'm like "no he doesn;t" even tho I know he does.. I think. And hes like "He seriously does" and then "he told me last night"... then he asked me if I'd go out with .x. to which I replied "maybe.." and giggled nad then hes like "thats cool then..I'll tell him.. so he can..." (trailed off with words)... Is there a chance he is joking? Or do you think .x. actually likes me? (he shows all the signs).

i would assume he likes you. it wouldn't hurt to take the first step. ask him to hang out and hopefully he will make his own move on you.

if he's showing the signs he probably likes you but it would be better if you talked or asked about it with him, not his friend. i really wouldn't be sure if i could trust his friend. a lot of guys i know do that and it's really mean and they're jerks. it happened to my best friend. (but it doesn't mean he is lying,it's just a thought)

I have no way of knowing what x thinks (I'm not psychic, lol!).  However, by your own admission, you lied about the fact that you like him.  Why don't you quit playing games and just ask him to go for a soda with you after school?  While you're at it, apologize to him about lying.  Lying never comes of any good; honesty is the best policy.  Good luck!

Never EVER communicate through channels (friends, in this case). Let communication be direct. Talk to him or drop him some hints to talk to you. It'd help you a great deal

you'll only  know of you ask X if he likes you. he's the only one who knows..unless he told the truth to his friends. confidently ask him! It's no harm. :)

Wow that kinda hard to decipher but ill give it a shot. The best thing I could think of is to try to hang around him a little bit more and see how he acts around you. He might try to back off a little bit from you just because, i think youre saying his friend was trying to talk to you, so out of loyalty he would probably back up but if he doesn't he will come onto you stronger. If he comes onto you stronger than he normally does then he likes you, if he backs off then he likes you but out of loyalty he doesnt want to try to get too involved with you. Thing is though you like him and everything if he does talk to you and doesn't show any sign of stress/strife about going around his friend remember that, always remember things like that. No offense on calling you a girl but girls are important but you don't leave friends like that.
