Is it possible (or difficult) to build a trundle to go under a regular twin bed?

One kid moving out. Need to adapt the bed we already have if possible and avoid buying a new one. We prefer to have a twin with a trundle under it, but would like to build the trundle or have it built if it can be done.

  1. Hi Mom! You don't seem all that sad about getting rid of me. Oh, well... I don't mind. Boarding school, whooppeee! Yay for St. Andrew's!

Oh, and I am thinking about asking papa if he wants the book shelf in my room. Then I can use the small one we just took out of the living  room.

Hahahaha. This is fun. Just because I love you, I will answer your question: it is possible and it is difficlt! But we could easily attach wheels so it'll slide in and out, like one of the dishwasher trays.

  2. Easy - you just need to get the dimensions right so that one will fit under the other. Use two divans - make frame for fixed one with clearances - make folding legs to go under other, and Bob is your Mum's Brother.

(You could sneak round your local bedding store and get some clues from ready made examples if you are still unsure).
