I'm 18 and have about a year and a half of highschool left. Im going to go get my GED (grade 12 equivalent) instead of going back to highschool. I've always wanted to be a dental hygenist and im wondering if I can still get into college with a GED. I'm also wondering if its possible to even suceed as a dental hygenist with only a GED?

Im also a bit shy so im also wondering if I could still go for the dream of being a dental hygenist? and finally is it super comepetive?

Sorry for all the questions!

Thanks in advance!

  1. Of course you can. You will have to take SAT and ACT to get into college (this is a must). Also start at a Junior college for 1-2 years and transfer to what ever University you plan on going. This takes hard work. But I'm doing it! But make sure you get as much info as possible so you can do all the right things! You dont even need to ask that many questions really, just search on yahoo answers for past questions that are like yours. Thats how I figured out a lot of stuff. But since you are a senior I don't understand why you just don't stay, I think you should.. Because my sitiuation is I am supposed to be in 11th and still in 9th because I got expelled one year.. I didn't do it :'(..... Then the only school I could go to it was so far away and I had to take the bus so sometimes I would miss the city bus and I miseed so many days because of that which caused me to fail again!... c**p sucks, but we can still make it through.

    good lucky poo!

  2. yes it is possible!! i would recommend that you start off at a community college then transfer from there.

    good luck with your dream!
