hi this might sound a ridiculous question but is true that some women can only carry boys or girls? i have 4 healthy boys and i have recently had a miscarriage, a few people who knew about my pregnancy said to me that maybe it was because it was a girl and that my body rejected it, is there any truth to this at all? i also heard people saying they know people who can only carry girls, im just interested to know if anyone else has heard of this, thanks for any replies .

  1. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I used to believe this. We lost our first baby, a boy and after that had 2 other miscarriages. The only babies I've carried to term have been my two daughters. Now I'm pregnant with a little boy and battling premature labor.

However I dont believe it anymore. Just staying pregnant with this little guy has been a miracle and showing me that I can have boys. I'm very sorry for your loss, I know what pain you are feeling right now. I very much hope you have a healthy little girl soon.

  2. yes ive heard of that 2 but not sure it true...but there are stil a few a few that havead both...but most people who have same partner with all children tend to have same s*x babys 2..my sis had 3 boys with same man but i got a boy and carying a girbut with same man...i think is just more commn o have same s*x babys

  3. no

  4. Oh Pleeeeeeease dont worry about such a thing! A girl in my high school class is the oldest of ten girls. When her mother had a boy, (the 11th child) the teacher said "The Messiah is here."

There are so many stories like this. Having 4 of one s*x is nothing. A lady where i used to live had about 5 darling little daughters, before the boy arrived. There are families who wait for their boy and families that wait for their girl. Ask this question again after you've had maybe like ten boys. Then we'll talk.

  5. i think so:

My great gran had 4 girls

    My nan had 3 girls

    My mum had 4 girls

    My cousin had 2 girls

    My sister had 1 girl.

I, on the other jand, had 2 boys, the first boys to be born into my family in 4 generations..you should have seen the celebration!!

  6. This is mother nature working away naturally and yes for some unknown reason .... genetically some women cannot carry girls .. or boys as the case may be... It may seem nowadays to be 'an old wives tale'  but nature often knows best.... so unless it is totally unproven ...then i am sure this happens..    i only had girls (5 of them) and 1 miscarriage....

sorry to hear  your news x*x

  7. My family have more problems carrying boys than girls. Although there are girls the pregnancys are normally harder. My partners family have the same with girls,so lets hope ots not passed on.

With your miscarriage you need to try not to think about thye cause. Its hard i no. I read in a book by the miscarriage association that everyone has at least 1 miscarriage although most dont realise it and 1 in 6 babys miscarriage.

  8. I'm not sure.  I had 3 m/cs before my 3 daughters.  The m/cs were early (7 weeks) so I have no idea if they were male embroyos.

Sorry for your loss, take care.

  9. It's up to the guys to determine the s*x but usually I hear that the mother's body attacks the testosterone in male babies. Sorry for your loss.

  10. I would expect thats right if the same partner

  11. yes.

  12. I don't know, but my mom had 2 boys and 1 girl-me!  So I don't think so.  Sorry about your miscarriage. : - (

  13. No, thats totally false.

I am sorry for your loss :(

Your body will accept what it does, regardless of the dads (gender) contribution.

  14. i think so my mom had three girls and her friend had three boys lol

  15. It is the male's sperm that determines the s*x of the baby.

The baby grows according to the dna in that fertilised egg.

Women miscarry for many different reasons, but YOU CAN HELP TO MAKE YOUR PREGNANCY SAFER by having a good balanced intake of healthy food and making sure you have vitamin E found in dark green vegetables, eggs, liver, organ meats, wheatgerm, vegetable oils, desicated liver.

ANTAGONISTS  that inhibit the uptake of vitamin E are birthcontrol pills, chlorine, mineral oil, rancid fat & oil, iron, air pollution.

COMPLIMENTARY NUTRIENTS are A, B complex, B1, inositol, C,  F, manganese, selenium, phosphorus.

IF YOU HAVE any of these: dry, dull or falling hair; gastrointestinal disease, heart disease, impotency, miscarriages, muscular wasting, sterility, then you may be needing Vitamin E, and particularly if you have been taking birthcontrol pills for some time.

  16. i do know someone who got through 3 pregancies up until 20 weeks and then her body as the doctor told her rejected the babies and they all very sadly passed on. They were all boys and now she has just given birth to a baby girl who is very healthy. Maybe its true in this case it certainly is. Like yourself i've also had a misacarriage and now i have 2 wonderful boys and am due my third and my family and friwnds have suggested the reason being for my loss was the same reason you got told. I'm so sorry for you but don't lose hope, baby dust your way hun and take care. x

  17. I have never heard of a body rejecting one s*x over another.  The woman doesn't choose the s*x of the baby...the man is the only one that can contribute to the s*x of the baby as he carries the X and the Y gene.  Men, depending on their sperm can be prone to only send over one certain s*x.  Hence when Kings of the past were mad they only received daughters and would remarry only to have more...it is actually their fault and not the womans like they believed.

  18. ya, i believe that. i dont know if theres any kind of medical reason for it. but my grandmother had 3 girls and miscarried 2 boys. ive also had 3 girls and 2 miscarriages, and ive always known those were boys. maybe its genetic, who knows?

  19. well my mother in law had 5 boys. her last son was supposed to have a twin and his twin would have been a girl. She lost it at 22 weeks but kept the boy. Also I have 2 boys. Sometimes I think that he can only make boys but I hope not cause i am trying one more time and if its not a girl i am getting my tubes tied and adopting a girl.

  20. yea it is every other generation on my moms side could not carry boys my great grandma had all girls my grandma had 3 boys mom my had two miscarriges and they where both boys and my first was a boy.

  21. yes, it has happened to me over and over ...

I was told it is due to different hormone balances between a woman carrying a girl and a woman carrying a boy. Some women adapt and tolerate the changes better than others. Some women will have more / less sickness with one s*x of baby than the other, some women will carry one s*x of baby very differently to another (ie 'out front' or 'all around'). All these things are individual to each mother.

That's what I was told, by a medical professional, anyway.

  22. First of all I am sorry for your terrible loss.

The lady accross the road from me has 5 girls. She has carried 3 boys, all which were still born. So maybe it is true for some people. I dont know if there is any medical reason for it.

  23. I'm sorry for your loss, but no, its not true.  Your body will reject a pregnancy (male or female) if there is something wrong with it.  It's a mans sperm that determines the s*x of the baby, so it has nothing to do with you in terms of the s*x, and the success of the pregnancy.

Keep trying hun if you want another baby.  A m/c is devastating, but no matter what, it is nothing to do with you, your body or your inability to carry a baby.  Like you said, you've got 4 healthy boys, you work fine - its just that this time, it wasn't meant to be x*x

  24. my friend has four girls and tried for another baby. sadly she lost the baby at 18 weeks and it was a boy. Not sure how much truth there is to it though. Havent heard any real medical evidence to support either
