Question:

Is it possible that I have ADHD?

I noticed recently that I have a slight tendency to, never stay still and lose attention, very fast. I mean, it's hard to sit still and write this, I;m only doing it becuse I need an answer!

Anyways I went on Wikipedia and I checked out the page for ADHD, and well, I have all the symptoms. The page says you have ADHD if you suffer from six or so, I have all eighteen. Or however many there are.

So, thoughts please?

  1. if you think the test you took is accurate, then there's a really good chance you have it.

but remember, ADHD is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, which would mean that you display symptoms of hyperactivity along with symptoms of attention problems.

i knew i had ADD when i realized that no matter how hard i tried, i couldn't pay attention to what i was doing. when i would try to read a book, i would have to read one page over and over and over again before comprehending what i was looking at. reading was just letters and words on a page, and teachers' lectures were just spoken words that had no meaning.

even though this isn't safe healthwise, i took an adderall "recreationally" one day with a friend in school, and that day when i was in class, i finally felt like i was there, just like the other kids. and when i read and did my homework, the words strung together and had meaning. overall, i felt that my mind was connected to the world for the first time in my life. after that day, i went and got my own perscription and haven't looked back since.

    my overall suggestion:

-if you really think you have ADD or ADHD and don't think you can help yourself on your own, you should go to a psychiatrist asap and he/she can analyze you and hopefully give you something like adderall. also, if you're still in school you don't even need to go to a psychiatrist- you can just go to your guidance counelor and he/she can give you a test that will be partially filled out by your teachers, partially by your parents, and partially by either you or the guidance counselor (i'm not sure which, i just went to a psychiatrist).

good luck! and p.s. adderall is a god on earth!

  2. possibly..maybe

it could be that you just have a lot of energy

    or not much sleep

because i have both those symptoms

i dont sleep enough so i cant concentrate or act sensible because i'm so tired

but if you have all 18 you should go see a doctor to be sure

    x.

  3. How old are you? ADD and ADHD usually present themselves from an early age, perhaps look in a different direction, bipolar (manic-depressive) and anxiety disorders can present later on in life, and often occur in ones teens to mid twenties. If you are concerned, I would speak to a psychiatrist, counselor or social worker...not wikipedia!!!! Good luck with everything and even if you do have ADD or ADHD, chill...not the end of the world :)

  4. Well, maybe you do. We can't up and tell you if you're straight up ADHD,  but what you need to do is just get to a doctor, or a therapist / psychologist / psychiatrist and see what they have to say, you can explain things to them and they can help you figure out if you're just a hyper teen or actually have ADHD.

All in all, there's probably no need to worry, ADHD isn't that bad anyways. I've got a best friend who has it, and he's anti-medication and anti-therapist and he's just fine.

  5. Yep u do have adhd go see a dr. asap and he/she will prescribe a drug called RITALIN dont wait go see ur DR. right away

  6. Sounds more like ADD, but I'm really not sure if you have problems with impulses, if your defiant, etcc....

I have  seen students that are more borderline ADHD. Are just a little hyper, but in the end they can some what control it. On the other hand you can have ADHD students that have no sense of control.  they will throw chairs, swear, hit or threaten people.

It is very likely that if you are in school and causing problems..it would of been addressed by now.
