Is it possible that I have diabetes?

My grandfather and other family members have diabetes. I am a teen and show many symptoms like frequent urination, tingling feet and hands, weakness, tiredness, thirst, and feeling ill after meals. Should I be concerned?

  1. You should discuss these symptoms with your pediatrician.  There are multiple risk factors for diabetes including but not limited to being female, over 40, overweight, and family history.  Since you have 2 of these and the symptoms you mentioned are present it would be worth checking.  However, there are any number of other things that could cause these symptoms as well.  So don't stress, talk to your doctor a simple blood test will put your mind at ease.


  2. If there is a family history , then you SHOULD get checked up. You could be just paranoid. i mean lack of sleep at night will cause tiredness weakness . you drink more water these days perhaps coz of the summer weather . It could be all in your head.

  3. i'm going through the same exact thing. my grandma has it, so does my aunt. i have a lot of symptoms of it too. i'm going to the doctor tomorrow to get a blood test, you should too! hopefully, it's just in our heads ahahhaa.
