Since Pluto gets closer to the sun than Neptune every once in a while wouldn't they eventually run in to each other.

  1. no, because they have different orbits

  2. That would take so long that there's probably another way that the Solar System will be destroyed.  I'd assume that the Sun will die out and explode before this happens.

  3. No, they're in a 3:2 resonance.  So Pluto will never cross Neptune's orbit when Neptune is there.  And Neptune's gravity will ensure that this stays the case.

It's possible, though unlikely, that something could alter Pluto's orbit.  Then all bets are off.

  4. No.

  5. Yes, if the universe lasts that long

  6. no

  7. Most likely not.  That is beacause scientists have backtracked Pluto and Neptune's orbit back billions of years, and they haven't gotten close enough to prove that Pluto was a moon on Neptune.  Also, they have gone into the future, and the sun will reach the end of it's lifetime before they get close enough to impact.

  8. no pluto the fallen planet as its called now has an orbit the comes inside of neptune's orbit but never crosses it. it comes in and out where neptune never passes...

on another note it is theoretically possible if some how pluto's orbit gets change to cross the path of neptune. pluto of course having the easiest orbit to change of the two given neptune's size in comparison
