I know that Yahoo! headquarters is located in Sunnyvaley, California, USA. But I wonder if Yahoo! computers and servers are located only there in California. Let's consider extreme cases, but imagine that California has terrible electricity problems for 1 week, does it mean that Yahoo! will not provide the service to its users for 1 week? Or let's imagine that Yahoo! headquarters at Sunnyvaley, California suffer a terrorist attack like the one New York suffered on September 11th, does it mean that Yahoo! will lose information, after a bomb that destroyed its buildings completely? I wonder if they store copies of data in computers around the world, for example in many other headquaters in other states of the United States or in different countries around the world. Are all Yahoo! users trusting only in the physical machines that Yahoo! has at Sunnyvaley, California? In that case, wow how special is that place! But I would like to know if we are secure with copies in other places too.

  1. They have learned a lesson from 9/11, and have off site facilities which would insure they stay on line, there might be a short interruption, however it would not be for very long.
