If disregard for law continues to increase, thanks to unemployment and economic desperation, is it possible we will soon experience a literal jungle-mentality as more and more inmates are released early?

  1. This happens all the time. Inmates are released early to create more room because of the lack of prison space. All prisoners won't ever be released. The funding will always be there for some sort of incarceration. But better and more prisons need to be built. We are actually catching up a little bit.

  2. In all honesty...I think we've really got to open our eyes and ask ourselves...do we want this "jungle mentality" to continue or will we decide to pay fair taxes to government without porkbarrel spending!

We all want to live in a safe environment and eventually I believe the taxpayer will start to open their eyes and put forth a bit more to keep the thugs off the streets!

  3. no that's the last thing that they will do there are plenty of other places to cut money from if they release the prisoners then it will just end up causing more problems in the long run

  4. I don't think that all prisoners will be released.  However, they may (and already are) giving them shorter sentences.  In most cases, people end up in prison because they had a broken life.  If a child grows up with a father who is a drug dealer and a mother who is a prostitute, is it any surprise if that child grows up to be a violent criminal himself?

  5. They do get shorter sentences, but I think the media as usual is exaggerating the amount of shortened sentences.  Crime rates are falling not going up.

  6. That question is about as inane as asking: "Will all jobs be abolished since the workers cannot afford to support the people on welfare?".

People break the law, and blaming it on unemployment or economic woes is assinine.  They are only excuses for doing what criminals have always done.

Maybe we need to build more prisons, and use the money we waste by supporting the "welfare bums" that are too lazy to work, to pay for them.
