  1. slim chance at winning, even slimmer at winning in a dominant fashion

    depends on matchup aswell

  2. speed and agility, and some other aspects but not in power

  3. Not in a dominating way - even if the lightweights outclass the heavyweights by light years.  However, it is possible for lightweights to beat heavyweights.  BJ Penn can definitely beat some heavyweights.

  4. no

  5. It is possible, but if both are skillful in the same arts, it is far more likely that the heavyweight would win.  The same questions could be applied to weightlifters:  a 150 lb., weightlifter could be stronger than a 250 lb., man - but a 150 lb. weightlifter and a 250 lb. weightlifter training for the same lifts would likely end up with the 250 lb. man lifting more weight.  Why do you think they have different weight classes in boxing, mma, weightlifting, armwrestling, etc.?

Not to take away from his awesome skills and his victories over much heavier opponents, but Gracie was successful because most of the other fighters were training for kickboxing matches, etc., and he turned it into a grappling match.

  6. Not in a dominating way but I suppose a well devloped professional lightweight boxer could beat a Heavyweight with no fights. But itd be rare.

Now in BJJ or MMA or something like that, no way. The Heavyweight could just sit and G&P all day. The Lightweight would have no way to escape.

  7. Of course, royce gracie was about 170 lbs and he dominated heavy weights. BJ Penn walks around that same weight and hes a better mixed martial artist than royce. Although current UFC level heavy weights would not get dominated.
