curious cuz i see people doing magic and i ask myself how do they do it.

is it real?

Remember, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS MAGIC OR PARANORMAL ANYTHING.

Then you can start to find the truth.

Magic is just when you get people to BELIEVE you to the point that they quit checking behind you and totally TRUST you. Then...

YOU GOT'EM!!!

You can say and do what ever you want especially if its not repeatable for them in some way (out of their price range for example). A great magician takes advantage of pride, imagination, and someone's love for something (like a love for exploration for example). People hate to admit they have been made a fool out of (i.e. fell for it like a sucker), and this is something the greatest adepts make sure to take advantage of. If someone was not aware of what was happening, their whole world-view could be shaped like a piece of clay and at this point the adept magician could achieve anything he wants with this person(s). A dangerous situation for that naive person(s) to say the least. If this person(s) has been "dumbed down" then this unfortunate situation is almost assured.

A large gap between the technology of "haves" and "have nots" can be mistakenly seen as magic or if the "have nots" have reached past a certain level of technology their pride may make them resort to calling it "extraterrestrial" or "out of this world" instead.

The 'magic' acts you see on stage are, as has been indicated, based of 'tricks'.

However.......  As Ray Bradbury once observed, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."  Think about how someone from even as recent a time as 1900 (when 'Herzian Waves' were still a little known laboratory curiosity) would react to the idea of picking up something the size of a pack of cigarettes and, within a few seconds, being able to speak with anyone, anywhere in the World.  Or travel from New York to London in a few hours (then it was 2 or 3 weeks by steamship).  Even travelling across the US of A took 4 to 5 days by rail (now it takes 4 hours to fly LA non-stop to New York).  To say nothing of things such as automobiles, television, computers, or the internet.

You want -real- magic??  There it is ☺
