  1. hannroy_11,

Yes, it is possible that Lucy will get pregnant. However, I don't think that you should try for baby guinea pigs because many rodents die after they give birth, so the babies have no milk and then die too. Of course, if you want to share cages, you can get one of them spayed/neutered but its almost impossible and they often die. They also may not get along and may fight.

  2. yeah, if they like each other and the older feamle allows the younger one into the cage without biting of it's head.  even guinea pigs like there space.

  3. As long as your boar is over 3 months and your brothers sow is younger than 6 months they can mate and impregnate. Boars need to be over 3 months for sexual maturity and sows need to be over a month. Also remember if the sow has never been pregnant before and is over 6 months old there will be serious problems. The symphysis pubis would be fused together and the sow would not be able the birth the pups. Both sow and pups could die. The father could also mate a daughter as soon as a month after her birth. The boar must be seperated from the sow before she gives birth. Another extremely important thing to remember is to NEVER mate them if the sow is over 8 months. Never ever ever ever!! The pubis will be completely fused and she will die if a C section is not performed immediately. The sow must also be about 1 pound or 1 1/2 pounds when mated. The ideal time to mate the female is between 10 to 12 weeks. Pregnancy also lasts about 2 to 2 and a half months. Sows under 6 weeks or above 8 months should never be put with a boar.

  4. yes because guinea pigs are very sexual and passionate but the baby with be deformed because the girl is older!!!!!!!

  5. yepppppppppppppp!

dont you dare do it tho

  6. Yes.  They aren't fixed.  Do not put them together if you don't want babies.

  7. lol that happened to me but it was hamsters if it happens cherish every moment it goes WAY too fast i swear!

  8. There are risks to breeding a litter and those should be considered before getting the female pregnant.  Most of these risks can be avoided by the female not being too old and being in good (but not over fat) condition.

Stress is a major cause of pregnancy problems (especially any stress that causes the female to stop eating late in pregnancy - barking dogs, handling too much, high temperatures, unnecessary car journeys etc). If you avoid these stresses and feed the sow correctly many problems can be avoided and the risks are NOT as high as some people choose to say that they are.

A guinea pig should have her first litter before the age of 12 months as the ligaments around the pelvic bone become less flexible with age, making delivery of the babies difficult. Also, an older female is less fertile and could have one or two very large babies (making birth difficult for a first time mother) rather than three or four smaller ones.

Please make sure that you are able to find homes for the babies or house them properly yourself.  You will need a cage for Mum and female babies and a cage for Dad and male babies so that they do not keep on breeding more babies. Please do not listen to people who say ‘what would you do with eight babies.’  It is an incredibly rare occurrence for a sow to have eight babies; they normally have three or four.

*****How will it ever be possible to put an end to this complete and utter myth that “a guinea pigs pubic bones will be completely fused"*****

  9. Wow, guinea pigs for pets?

  10. Yep animals don't care about age.

  11. yes, anything that has s*x. gets pregoo.

  12. Yeah so you should probably get them nudiered or do you want baby guinea pigs, which are really cute

  13. yes they will breed.

more than likely lucy would die trying to give birth.  guinea pigs don't have a fused pelvis until around 8 months.  so that they can safely give birth to the large sized, fully developed babies.  after 8 months of age their pelvis fuses and won't expand.

so unless the female had been bred prior to 8 months of age, her pelvis fused and she could not safely have the babies.

not worthe the risk of loosing your pig.  either get a female buddy for her and another male for your brother's pig.

  14. Are you serious? Of course she can get pregnant! It's also EXTREMELY dangerous.
