  1. Time is a man made 'feature' Time was developed by humans for personal reasons. The Universe, therefor, has existed always, but it isn't possible to determine "how long", as Time itself was "developed" again, by humans. The Universe, and Earth, has been around a lot longer than us. For an EXCELLENT read on what is Truth, try Mary Summer Rain. Any of her books will help tremendously.

  2. No.

We know that this universe had a beginning - the big bang - at which both space and time were created.

  3. I personally believe that the universe has existed forever. I also believe in the Big Bang theory. Confused? Let me elaborate:

Over 14 billion years ago, a massive accumulation of all matter in space exploded at maturity called the Big Bang. Presently, we are not far in "time" after the explosion and matter is still flying away from the explosion at an accelerated rate. this is no ordinary explosion since it is so much bigger than us (physical behaviour changes with the size relative to atoms).

At some point, all matter will stop expanding in space and start approaching itself through gravitational (electron) bonds. Matter will all recombine and recreate another massive accumulation. Then another Big Bang will occur. this happens for infinity.

  4. one theory of an infinite universe is this:

basicly if you bring everything down a dimention imagine two walls on a race track going opposite directions when they collide the energy released is what causes the big bang in each of the walls ( universes )

and the other univers is simply hidden up in higher dimensions

  5. Albert Einstein found a way to explain the universe with his theory of General Relativity saying that because gravity curved space - time. So as there are millions of matter causing gravity the universe will curve until it closes on itself. So that means as the universe has always existed the universe will become a sort of inflating (it is expanding) balloon that will blow and blow until it bursts, just like a real balloon. So the earth will end.

  6. The most accepted scientific explanation of the beginning of everything including matter and time is called the Big Bang Theory. The Big Bang is the cosmological model of the universe that is best supported by all lines of scientific evidence and observation. The essential idea is that the universe has expanded from a primordial hot and dense initial condition at some finite time in the past and continues to expand to this day. Nothing existed prior to this.

Extrapolation of the expansion of the universe backwards in time using general relativity yields an infinite density and temperature at a finite time in the past. This singularity signals the breakdown of general relativity. How closely we can extrapolate towards the singularity is debated. The early hot, dense phase is itself referred to as "the Big Bang and is considered the "birth" of our universe. Based on measurements of the expansion using Type Ia supernovae, measurements of temperature fluctuations in the cosmic microwave background, and measurements of the correlation function of galaxies, the universe has a calculated age of 13.73 ± 0.12 billion years. The agreement of these three independent measurements strongly supports the  model that describes in detail the contents of the universe.
