Is it possible that viruses can work on the Wii?

I have a Nintendo Wii, and somehow it got loaded with viruses and spyware, all really dangerous (I mean, EXTREMELY dangerous.) But somehow, my wii doesnt falter even though it has these viruses; it only falters when it fails to connect with my access point. And even though it has spyware, it hasnt been downloading programs since... it can't. Isn't that weird? Just for safety, how do you get rid of these viruses and protect your console? Sorry if my description was so long.

  1. here is a link I found on the Nintendo website talking about Firewall, Antivirus, Antispyware, Adware Compatibility information

    http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems...

  2. Viruses and spy-ware are created by people to target mainly PCs and to a lesser extent Macs, seeing as those two are quite open platforms for coding, while consoles are not so no one is making such malicious software specifically for the wii.

  3. Well, a lot of Windows viruses don't work on the Mac, and it's the same with the Wii. Being that there aren't any Wii-specific viruses I know of, the Wii probably won't be destroyed or anything.

I'm completely at loss though how to remove them...

  4. I am not sure..probably it doesn't affect your wii and just effect the connection or whatever the problem is affecting your wii.
