Is it possible to ask for the rearwing of a new car to be deleted?

I was planning to buy a 2009 Lancer GTS, but I really dont like the rearwing - it was a lot bigger than I thought and I do not think a a 168HP car, or any car below 200HP should have a rearwing.

would it be too much for the dealer to delete the rearwing/spoiler if it would mean a sell?

  1. some cars have more than one trim level, often the sport or gt groups will come with spoilers and the regular trims not.

but if the car comes standard with a spoiler, unless you spend money to have it removed or have the trunk swapped with a older one. your pretty much stuck with how it comes.

it's true it does not help in any aerodynamic way it's just for looks.

  2. YES! I've seen Mustangs without them, when the model comes with one stock.

  3. How about asking the dealer if one could be ordered with out one.If they say no,it can be removed but would require paint/body work on deck where the mounting HOLES are.
