Is it possible to ask the dealer to remove the dealer name tattoo/badge/sticker on a car ur about to buy?

I'm in the market for a new car, but some of the cars I like have the dealership's name on the back. it ruins the look of the car for me, and I don't like how I'm paying almost 30k for a new car and I have to give them free advertising too. is there an option to delete this? how hard could it be to paint over the patch?

I have requested it on every car I bought for 20 yrs. The dealer has never had a problem granting my request.

just ask the dealership. they cant refuse you if you buy the car. dont paint over it.

Don't try to paint over it. Just ask them to remove it and don't take possession of the car until they do.

yes, only takes 3 minutes to remove. i had them remove it from my 09 camry before purchasing it b/c it looks ugly with dealer name on it.

It's usually just a sticker.  Sure you can have them remove it, and I would recommend you do it before you take the car.  Stickers have glue that gets old and hard after sitting in the sun, and the sticker will get more difficult to remove with time.  Some dealers just put a frame around the license plate, and of course you can remove that easily.  You should not have to advertise for anyone, unless they pay you, of course.

YES. They can and should remove it for you with no damage at no cost or you should buy your vehicle elsewhere. Tell them that.

Tell them up front that if you buy from them, you do not want their dealer information posted on the car. They should be willing to accommodate your request. You don't want to try painting over the sticker.

It's just a sticker.  You can insist that the salesperson get rid of the dealer badge from the trunk before you pick up the car.  Make sure you have them add it to the contract because the same thing happened to me.  It wasn't a $30K car but it was brand new nonetheless and the sticker/badge really bothered me.  I told the dealer I wanted it removed when I came to pick up the car in a few days.  Sure enough, the badge was still there when I got there and he said I could just remove it myself.  It wasn't a deal breaker for me but it was more of an inconvenience for me to do it myself...I just went online to figure out how to remove it.

Most of the time, it's just a sticker that can be sliced off.  Use a piece of dental floss and slide it behind the badge.  In a back and forth motion while pulling down, use it to slice through the glue that's keeping the badge on the car.  Once the badge is off, you can rub the spot with some Goo Gone and it will loosen up the remaining glue and can be wiped off easily.  

If it's a higher-end car like a Mercedes, sometimes those badges are riveted to the trunk.  Make sure it's not riveted before you try to remove it.  If it is, then you should have the dealer remove it before you pick up the car.

I usually do it myself, but I am sure they will do it if you tell them as part of the deal.

I don't believe in giving them free advertisement either.

I hate those things too.  I took mine off myself. It's just a sticker and it can be gently peeled off with no harm to the car or the painted surface.

Or ask the dealer to do it.  When you sign the buyers order insist that it be removed.  Make sure that it is noted on the delivery paperwork.  Refuse to accept the car if it not removed.  

Those things ruin the look of every car they get slapped on, especially if the Bozo in the back puts it on crooked.
