  1. By a cat5e coupler. You can patch them but its really not worth the effort if you ask me.


  2. I wouldn't recommend it.  It's not worth your time and you will end up with a very poor quality cable.  Check out monoprice.com for super cheap cables and connectors.

  3. Snail is right. You get significant signal loss with splicing. It is inexpensive enough that you should buy more. Here is some more info on cable.
