Is it possible to be a berserk in present day?

I'm sure several police officers have stories to tell of crazed individuals who required 5 or more officers to restrain them.  I'm sure someone high on some drug would easily qualify for a mad berserker type rage, but I'm also sure that there are instances of people with a mental disorder or no disregard for pain or other people who could be susceptible to a berserker type rage.
