Is it possible to be an investment banker or stockbroker and not live in NY.?

I live in cleveland. Is it posssible to work at a merril lynch or morgan stanley in one of there branches or headquarters outside of new york and still be successful.

With hard work and dedication, I think it's very possible to be a successful stock broker for either company.  There's no rule saying you have to work in New York.

The biggest financial exchange in the world is in Chicago (CME).  Only New Yorkers think that New York is the center of the financial world.
