  1. defensife specialist NICE..... uh i dont think so i would wait though

  2. well can you jump? if so, then yes.

  3. no

  4. Well, all I can say is never say never... it is possible, but you will have to be at the top of your game. It is really hard to be noticed when your height isn't at least 5'9, and even 5'9 can be considered short in college volleyball- most players who are 5'9 are most likely a setter at that skill level. Recruiters for college teams honestly first scope out the height and then pick the talent out of the height... but if you have made a name for yourself throughout the HS loop, you are bound to be talked about to a recruiter. In my case-  being an outside hitter at 5'8 was a major mountain to climb to be recognized.

If it is something that you really, really, really want- work your butt off for it!

Good Luck and keep on playing! If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me!

  5. if you have an AWESOME vertical leap then your not too short to play front row.

  6. It doesn't matter how tall you are... if you can jump to block and hit and get the job done then you can be 4'9 (my current height haha, which is why I, too, am a DS) and play outside. I say go for it if you're good enough. Good luck with your volleyball!

  7. It really depends on several things.

If you are talking about a top 10 D1 school, you will probably not get a chance.  there are thousands of colleges.  There are over 300 D1, plus the D2, D3, NAIA, and NJCAA.

If you can have a big jump, you can play outside in college.

I would go ahead and tryout for the outside in high school.  If you are good in the back row as well, you can always play DS or Libero in college.  If they see how talented you are, they will switch you.

  8. Im 5'8 and every coach i have ever talked to has told me that unless you have an amazing vertical... Chances of being less than like 6 foot and playing front row are pretty slim. I would say stick to defensive specialist. Im having to switch to a ds so i might have a chance in college.

  9. it really depends on how good you are at jumping.  if u have a good enough vertical leap then sure

  10. You can play but you have to have a good vertical jump. It's not nessacarily about your height but how high you can jump;.
