  1. Yes, it sounds like you are destined to suck.

Your life now has no meaning.

Go away and live in the woods, or the everglades.

The world doesn't want you now.

jk. Just stick with it, also, go to fretplay.com and start with the chords, then work on to everything else.

  2. Hey Nick

If you are not too advanced in your playingand you are left-handed, than switch sides while you can. I am left-handed and play right-handed.

If I were to start over, I would have played left-handed although, I am proficient playing right-handed. But, I sometimes regret it.

The problem you are having is the co-ordination between right and left hand. You should practice alternate picking at a slower speed and gradually, you increase as you move on.

  3. just like any thing, the more practice, the better you will get, and yes, some people are born with the natural talent, like Hendrix..He had even had to practice though...

Now for the lefty thing,,,I had been trying to play for like thirty years and nevr got farther than Red River Valley, or You Are My Sunshine,,, but got pretty good at Free Bird,,,,,any way...

I do most things left handed,,shoot bow and arrows, guns, I can also write comfortably with my left hand when my right one gets tired,,,,I was also forced to be right handed,,,,,,,

what Im getting to is,,, I dated this guy once who had a left handed guitar and he was shocked at how good I was ,, It was the first attempt at one and it felt more natural to me,,

give it a try and you may find what you lack, and also get as much practice as you can......good luck

  4. i dont think so. just keep practicing. i only played guitar for like 2 months and i could play like crazy train and beat it and some other songs. maybe take a guitar class
