Is it possible to be pecked to death by birds?

I was watching the movie The Birds and i just do not think that it is possible to be pecked by birds to death.

Actually yes, but normally it birds do NOT travel in HUGE groups, so it is definately safe, unless you are pecked in the eye, you will go blind in an instant.

Actually, there was a case in asia, where a man was killed by jungle crows.

There are certain sensitive points in our body such as medulla oblangata.  If a bird pecks at such point it is likely to cause death.
