I was on the birth control pill about a month ago, and went off of it then because me and my boyfriend were hoping to now conceive, we had intercourse about a week to a week and a half later, at which time I thought I might be ovulating, and then 2 weeks after that I had a brown/black spotting for 3 days. Could this have gotten me pregnant or will I have to try again this month probably? When is the best time to test to get positive results?

  1. Spotting, and not a full on period, especially if it is shorter than your regular period, is often a sign that you have conceived.  I would try a pregnancy test out and see if you get positive results, and definitely try a second just to be sure.  If both are positive, set up an appointment with your doctor to test for sure.

  2. The best time to take a pregnancy test is in the morning, thats when you HGC (i think thats it cant remember now) levels are at there highest and you should get an accurate result. For many people it takes a few months for your body to get used to been off the pill and may take a while for you to conceive. But some woman still experience spotting and there periods even though they are pregnant. Good luck.

  3. it is possible that you are pregnant but i would say its more likely that your body is getting used to coming off the pill, periods can take up to 6 months to settle down after coming off the pill. Good Luck
