I have United Health Care. I have been seeing a dr or two that is NOT in the network so they will not pay them anything. I have heard of something called Super Billing.. But not sure what to do. I called Them and they said it was possible but not probrobable. Whatever that means.

  1. It is possible if you had no other choice, you were in an area with no providers and need emergency care, you need a specialist (they usually approve this first though) and they did not have a single one in their plan.   This happens sometimes when you have a very rare disease, only a few doctors in the county can help you.

It is "not probable" because those situations are not probably.   It is more likely you just decided to see a doctor outside your plan.

  2. It means, if you have one chance in a thousand, it's possible, but not probable.

It's possible you'll open your front door in the morning, and there will be an envelope there with $10,000 in cash.  But it's not probable.

That's what they're telling you.  Count on being reimbursed, like you're counting on that envelope in your door.

  3. If you have out of network coverage then sure part of the bill would possibly be covered.  If you don't, then no you won't.
