If only 10% of meth addicts fully recover then where do you find the strength to become one of these people. I'm f***ing scared to death. I don't want to die...not from this.. and I know ALL of the consequences of using. I haven't been using everyday but lately it is getting more frequent and I don't want to lose myself again to this bs. I feel lost right now if anyone has any guidance...especially anyone who has been able to beat this or has been clean for a number of years. I don't want to die from this.

  1. Well, I've never used meth, but ive abused other substances in my past. I suppose the best thing you can do and have done, is know that there is indeed a problem. One good course of action is to surround yourself with people who will encourage a healthy lifestyle and take advantage of any help they are offering be it emotional or guidance and what not. If that isnt an option, i suppose will power is always another option. Think of all the things that you could lose in your life if you continue to use it. Its easy to get out of control, i know. Its just being mentally strong enough to make the decision that it HAS to stop. And im sure there are local support groups if thats an option you want to explore. other people may be able to guide you in a path that has worked for them in the past.

So in the end, i suppose yes, you can beat it, absolutely. You just have to want it bad enough.

  2. Tessa, you are not alone and I know you are scared. believe me so was I! I used meth from the age of 12 yrs. to July8,1997.I was 12 in 1974! Tessa please don't listen to the stats of how many addicts recover because it will drive you even further into addiction. you concentrate on you! please believe me when I give you this guidance as a start; please go to the nearest clinic or detox/rehab and heres some tips to be certain you'll be admitted immediately. don't tell them that you don't want to die rather tellthem that the meth has completely taken over every part of any life yuo ever did have! tell them just what you said about being lost because meth has a great hold and power on you. this brings you even deeper down into addiction and depression and helplessness follow as a result. please trust me. it's hard but, when I first started to get clean,I remembered this; that when i'd feel like i was having a bad day clean I compared it to the bad days I had using and yes it was hard but, my bad days clean were so miniscule compared to my bad days as an active addict; like where was I gonna cop? how was I going to pay for it?( sometimes had to steal!) and that I had nothing because I either sold it or gave it away for my nextfix! Tessa the first step is to get into a facility I know you'll be scared but, you'll see that you won't be alone in this struggle! please e-mail me i'd like to give you more ways to get thruogh this but most of it i'd rather relay one on one with you. if that's ok?

  3. It is possible.  Get help.  Get into rehab.  There are a lot of resources out there and people waiting to help you succeed in beating this.
