I have seen advertised City and Guilds Plummers courses

Become a C&G qualified plumber in 8 weeks for £5,000.

Is this really possible. Iv' been quoted £7,500 by B&Q to fit my bathroom. I'm serious has anyone ever done an 8 week course then made a living out of Plumbing?

  1. Those courses are a massive rip off and not taken seriously by anyone in teaching or in the profession. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY PLEASE

  2. There are a myriad of confusing new levels of qualifications that fudge the previously clear line of apprentice trained trades.Obviously there is no way that cramming 8 weeks of unrealistic scenarios will prepare you for events on even the first day at work.

If you are serious about fitting your own bathroom,it is not beyond the skills of a dedicated DIyer.

Simply systematically read up on each stage as you go.The internet alone will provide everything you will need to know and the time consumption will be less than 8 weeks.

  3. I like your way of thinking but I fear this could be dodgy.

Like my plumbing ended up after I took the same course...

Turned out to be more than wet behind the ears...

  4. are you stephen fry?

    i like the show QI.

i dont really know your answer..

but maybe you could be chancer!

    yay go me im sad!

  5. I just had a +$300,000.00 home destroyed this weekend because a $3.50 stop c**k was not installed properly by a plumber with 20 years experience.

Is it worth the risk to your family, your finances, your reputation and your customers to try to learn this in 8 weeks?

  6. Not possible. It takes at least 8 weeks just to get used to the spiders.
