I've never played before really, and I'm 22 now, but I want to become a professional, am I too old to start?

What are the chances I can make a living of tennis and play with the big names?

  1. hou can but have very little shot and should train with A PROFESSIONAL LEVEL CAOCH

  2. Yes because winning any amount of money can make you a pro but , you have no chance of playing against any of the big name players if you are not a well rounded player by now. If some one gets ranked in their region like the North East then they have a chance at a wild card into the U.S Open qualifying rounds but still for you very slim.

  3. No offense or anything (and I mean that with all the sincerity in the world) but you really have no shot. Sorry.

  4. Slim to none.

If you take lessons, dedicate yourself, and spend a lot of time practicing, you can likely become a very skilled player, but the pros have generally played thier entire life.

  5. I you have never played tennis before, and you are 22 you really don't have a chance.  Roger started playing before he was 5.

  6. i think you'd have a better chance at becoming the first woman president

  7. No way your to old to turn pro... look at John Isner he finished his college first at georgia tech then turn pro at 22 years young.... you can do it..

    Hope this will help you:)

  8. perfect age for a star, you just have to practice... i mean like A LOT...

  9. you must be joking!!

It takes a lifetime of hard training!

  10. If you've never played before and you are 22 now, you will have very little chance of becoming a pro.

Most professional tennis players started at a very young age and have developed strokes and worked on their games for most of their lives.

Even if you are a gifted athlete, you stand little chance of getting a pro level game together any time soon. Your body and the quickness needed to compete at the pro level will begin to fade in 5 years or so.

I'm not saying you cannot start playing now and become a very good tennis player. Just not a pro level tennis player.

  11. yes u can . u just need to squiz and squiz ur chest

  12. Sure, as long as you are in good physical condition and stay in shape. At 22 your metabolism has started to slow down, but it isn't like you wouldn't be able to keep your body and mind in peak condition, it may just be more difficult than some of the 16-18 years olds. If you're good enough then you will be able to though. Good luck.

  13. sorry but most, no all pros that are anywhere near even the top 500 in the world started at around 7 years of age and practice hourse and hours a day every single day of the week most of the really talented (and rich) ones are sent to tennis academys the day they can walk and are usually recomended by coaches or other players. and in the case of andre aggassi one of the greats of all time he litteraly had a ball and a tennis raquet in his hand (or atleast by his side) sincve the moment he was born. most, again no all of the major player in the top ten were all top junior players (atleast in the top 5 in the world) and before that weresent to top tenis academys where tennis became there life.

so to answetr your question im sorry no, if you had a lot of experiance already then this might be a different answer but sorry for a begginer at 22 wont work out, think about most top players primes are at about 22-24

  14. its possible to become a pro at 22...but considering ur facts, even if u start now practise a lot, it'll take u atleast 2yrs to turn pro, but mind u, u wont last long enuf on the pro-circuit.....

apart from this u need the luck of each and evry living being on this planet....(jus kiddin.....no offence gal!)

  15. I hope you aren't serious.

You have ZERO chance lol. Most of the 'big names' have already won slams by the age of 22.

  16. yea no offence or anything, but its impossible

kids that are like 7 can probably beat you, and you'll never be at peak physical condition in time (you'll be too old) if (and absolutely unlikely) you catch up to their experience. but you can play senior tournaments later on, if you practice everyday, and have natural talent
