I'm American If I have all the school stuff done could I be a vet in Japan is it harder for a foreigner to get a good job in Japan

  1. The degree that you earn in the US will not be sufficient to obtain a license to practice veterinary medicine in Japan.

    Your credentials would not transferable to the Japanese system.

    You would need to gain entry into an appropriate Japanese university and complete a Ph.D. Degree program in veterinary science. Entry into these schools is very competitive. You will need university level Japanese language ability and competitive test scores.

    Is it harder for a foreigner to get a good job in Japan?

    It is easier for you to become a vet in the US.

    It is easier for Japanese people to get good jobs in Japan.


  2. You mean an animal doctor ? Not likely. You would have to graduate from a school there. Schools are very costly. Not to mention you would need to be able to speak, read and write Japanese at an above average level.

    To qualify for a work visa, you need a job offer before you get there.
