I was on BC for 4years and have been off of it for a year now, I'm trying to regulate my period which it hasnt been regular since I got off bc I was regular before bc too. So the doc gave me estrogen pills to take for 10 days then I'm suppost to get my period right after that. So am I still able to concieve even though I took estrogen pills to get my period? Would I still ovulate after my period?

  1. Hi, i do not think you would be able to conceive as you have taken the estrogen pills. Estrogen makes your body think that there is already a fertilization, so another fertilization does not take place. i guess you will get your periods in a few days. you would ovulate after the period for sure.

  2. I'm not that familiar with estrogen pills either, but I am assuming that your doc put you on them to jump start your period so you can start ovulating regularly.  Assuming that there are no infertility issues, you should be able to conceive.

  3. I am in your same situation.  Yes, the pills should be helping regulate your cycle and hopefully you will ovulate after your period.  From what my doctor told me, the only thing the estrogen should effect is getting your period started.  There shouldn't be any problem with conceiving.

  4. well i admit that i am not familiar with estrogen pills, but it seems to me that they shouldn't effect your ability to get pregnant... i mean why would your doc put you on them if they did? seems entirely illogical to me
