Question:

Is it possible to blindstitch with a Singer model 347?

I have a Singer model 347, made in the late sixties. I got it at a thrift store, so I don't have the instruction manual. I have been using it happily for years, but as my skill improves I find that I want to make blind hems. I know that there are attachments for this, but I can't figure out if I will be able to use one if I buy it. Is there an attachment or a foot I can use to do this with my 347? It doesn't seem like I can, but I'd much rather buy a new accessory than a serger or new machine.

  1. They just started  making blind stitch attachments in the late 60's  so you can probably do it with your machine.  I still find it difficult to  fold the material in the correct manner when I do blind stitching on my modern machine.  I would suggest you look it up on the Singer sewing machine website.

    Good luck
