our company trucks are GPS monitored. we are responsible for them even off work. I dont want them knowing when I go to my GFs or other places. we are permitted to use them while off work. Some say they will know where we are so we cant refuse to come in for extra duty..

  1. The best way is to disconnect the GPS antenna, if you can't find the GPS antenna than you will have to surround the GPS antenna / receiver with metal since GPS RF signal does not do well with metal surrounding it.

    I would say you can also disconnect the power to the GPS tracking device from time to time and claim the unit have issues.

    Said to say, we install tracking devices for fleet vehicles and see more damaged and tempering to their tracking device than actual failures.

    If you don't want to be track, consider using your own vehicle, there is always a price to pay for benefits the company offers you.

    Sorry

  2. Two ideas;

    1. Place a metalic object over the GPS unit. The object should be bonded electrically to the truck body.

    2. Find the fuse/circuit breaker for the GPS.

    The only problem with this might be that the logs may show some strange entries that require explanation.

  3. well most gps systems are not trackable, they may just be telling you that to kind of scare you into coming in. Most gps systems dont have tracking devices in them, they can only tell you the way to get to a place based on all the data in the map not by tracking locations. i know for a fact that tomtoms and garmins cannot be tracked. hope that helped
