  1. It seems to be working for these guys.

I just made the switch to veggie and I'm still hitting the gym.  Curious to see what my results will be.  Good luck.

  2. Yes it is, just as possible as it is to body build and be a meat-eater at the same time.

Take a look at this site

    http://www.veganbodybuilding.com/

And look at these forums; almost all members are vegan, and they have specific forums for Bodybuilding and Power and Strength. You'll find a lot of advice there, and take a look at the avatars and the pictures of themselves people have posted - do any of them look as if being vegan has stopped them building strength?:

  3. Yes, there are vegan bodybuilders.  Google vegan or vegetarian athlete, and you will see a couple.  I have heard of one gentleman by the name of Robert Cheeke.  He was featured in VegNews magazine.  There is also a vegan powerlifter.

  4. Yes, definitely!

Check out this story of a personal trainer who went vegan:

He participates in bodybuilding contests now and is doing very well.

The "before" and "after" photos are really impressive.

  5. Its not only possible to be vegan and body build, but plenty of body builders actually adopt veganism to improve their gains due to its healthy lifestyle.

The "FORUMS" link has plenty of expertise and a section of "Before & After" which shows the gains people have made from before and after they have adopted veganism.

  6. Absolutely!  I dated a man who made it to the national level in bodybuilding and he was a vegetarian.  I also am a vegetarian, but I have not competed.  Vegetarians mainly get their protein via legumes, soy, and whey proteins as do many bodybuilders.

  7. anything is possible

you would have to eat lots and lots of protein, nuts, soy food (such as tofu, tempeh, miso, and soy milk), Sprouted seeds -- each type of sprout has differing proportions of nutrients, so it's best to eat a variety of them, Grains, especially amaranth and quinoa, Beans and legumes, especially when eaten raw, Spirulina and chorella (blue-green algae), which are over 60 percent protein

Dr. Shulze has a bunch of herbal stuff and things you can check out

  8. It's possible, but extremely difficult. Vegetarians and vegans tend to have difficulty getting all the nutrients they need, making it a longer process to put on weight/increase muscle mass.

  9. i don't think it would be impossible, but you'll probably have to take A LOT of protein supplements.

  10. no but it will be more difficult....
