I work in a nursing home and I had a mechanical "hoyer lift" roll back and hit the top of my foot with the under part of the machine where you open the legs with. [ the latch plate of the adjusting lever. for those of you who are familiar.] i can move all my toes and can walk on it without pain. but when i touch that part of my foot it feels like there is a bump there and it hurts very bad. it almost feels like there is a bone sticking out......

  1. You probably would not be able to walk if you broke a bone in your foot.  The bump you feel is probably inflammation.

  2. yes you can break a bone on the top of your foot my daughter broke hers and had to put a cast on it.

  3. Where ever there is a bone there's always a possibility to break it. However in your foot its more likely you've sprained it than broke.

See a doctor for that, that's always the best way to go...

  4. Of course it's possible because there are bones in your feet. I won't venture a guess as to what it is so you'd best just see a Dr. and follow his/her advice so it heals properly and does not cause you problems later in life.

  5. Yes, it is possible to have broken it. The only problem is there isnt much a doctor can do to fix it. Get to the doctor for an x-ray though, just to make sure it heals in the best way possible.
