  1. already did: ecogeeks.org

  2. Possible?  Yes.

But its not practical.  Compressing air is a very inefficient method of energy storage.

  3. Entirely possible and useless.  Electric cars are more practical.

  4. you build it and let us know, if the hot air balloons work i guess it would do the same in auto.

  5. If you can figure out how to replentish the air faster than you use it, YES.You can also use hydraulics powered by an electric motor also.Theres many other things which have already been invented that the oil companies own and the government protects seeing both parties own stock in oil.

  6. It has already been done by a Frenchman. I saw it on "Futurecars" on the Discovery Channel.

  7. Not yet

  8. Not only possible, it's been done. Unfortunately, they don't get much in the way of range.

  9. there are self sustained compressed air cars out there although the major drawback is the sound of the compressor is way too loud to be withstood without hearing protection. Also it is above many communities sound ordinances so they are not feasible with the current technology of air compressors.

  10. i think i seen one getting 60 mile range

  11. Yes But you still need more energy to compress the air than it will have.

  12. Yes it is. Here is one:

  13. sure.

    but not very far.

there just is not a lot of energy stored in compressed air.

you could, of course, have a compressor.

but then you'd be running on whatever powers the compressor, and the compressed air would only be an energy transfer mechanism -- sort of like an extension cord.
