Is it possible to buy a vcr/dvd combi which will allow me to record my old video tapes on to dvd? thanks?

My vcr has died & i have several tapes I wish to keep. I still like to record on to tape, but am willing to use a recordable dvd. I need to record my tapes on to dvd if possible without too much expense & technical knowledge!

Yes most manufacturers make one, I have a Daewoo and it is excellent

You need to capture your video from video tape at first. And then, burn it to DVD as this guide:
