For a 6 yr old girl? I want clothes (pants and shirts), pjs, underwear, socks, and one pair of shoes. I think it is if I hit resale/thrift stores but I was just wondering what others thought. Thanks!

  1. yea with a thrift shop if you reuse some stuff. it wont work if you go to a regular store like macys or something...especially since shoes are so expensive these days. not surea bout pj's though, maybe one pair.

  2. Yes!  You can do this!  Look on www.craigslist.org for your city and see if you can find people giving away bags of clothes in your daughter's size.  Also try www.freecycle.org, also for your city, to see if someone is giving away clothes.  Anything missing you can buy in the store, but you're right about thrift stores and whoever suggested yard sales is right-on too.

  3. Definitely check out yard/rummage/garage sales. You may have to go to many (since some people try to sell total c**p), but if you keep at it you will no doubt come across some decent stuff for an amazing price. Last month I found 2 pairs of brand new jeans (with the tags still on) for my 18 month old. I paid 50 cents each. Can't beat that!!!

  4. thrift store. definetly

  5. No, I doubt it. Unless you make her wear the same bottoms, and different shirts. But like everything has to be less then 2$

  6. If you go to Walmart or Kohl's, you may be able to find clearance shirts or pants for 2 or 3 dollars each.

Adding new underwear and socks, plus pajamas (even used), staying under 25 will be tough.

Try Goodwill and any second hand stores.

Even TJMaxx or Target clearance is good.

In the end, you may end up spending more on gas driving around looking for deals. If you up your budget to $40, you can probably do it.

  7. If she'll be staying with you while it's still warm then you can take advantage of the summer clearances. I've found lots of tees and shorts for my 8 year old daughter (that were inexpensive to begin with) on clearance for $2 and even less. Target and Walmart would be your best bet for deals like these.

  8. either hit the resale shops, garage sales or craigslist.. it is very possible to buy a weeks worth for $25.. a church near us has fill a bag for $5.00 for the general public they use clothing donations to run a fundraiser store for the church.

  9. yes you could if you went to a yard sale but not for really new clothes

  10. yeah probably at a thrift shop. Whats your address I'll send you an outfit, what size is she??

Oh ok haha sorry I felt really bad. But the offer still stands just the same.

  11. h**l no!! you could get like, two items of clothing for that....if your lucky!!

  12. Sure I think thats quite possible if you go to a thriftstore. I love shopping in thriftstores. I have somedays that I find lots, and days that I find nothing.

I wouldnt buy shoes or underwear there. Too many germs. I dont care how many times I washed them- I just couldnt wear someone elses underwear or shoes.

  13. Yard sales would be great as well.

  14. Although it a good sale you still should try to get more clothing.

  15. I think so.  You have to be creative with what you buy where.  Garage sales, thrift stores, etc.  Are hand-me-downs an option?  Do you have a friend with a girl a few years older than yours?  Because hand-me-downs are great.  If you are okay with washing the clothes over the week that certainly helps as well.  If you buy pants without embellishments, she can wear them again without it looking like its the same thing.  Add a belt (one of your old colored scarves would be great) to dress them up.  Hope I've helped:)  Good luck with your bargain hunting!

  16. for a child thats fin, i would just wash it again before wear, but i think you would need a bit more than $25
