Is it possible to canoe down rivers from north france to costa de sol spain not using sea?

using canadian canoe and camping on way.possible portaging for small distance and would you need licence for water?

  1. you can canoe from northern france (the canal system starts at calais, or over the border into belgium) all the way down to the mediterranean, but there is no river or canal across the border into spain because of the pyrenees mountains, nor is there much of a navigable river system (and no canals) in spain, so you would be out of luck in spain.

    Going in another direction you could visit belgium, netherlands, germany, poland, switzerland, czech republic, hungary, serbia, croatia, romania, all the way to the black sea or even into russia

France has some 6,000 miles of canals (compared to the UKs 2,000 miles) and has many rivers but you will have trouble getting to Spain as it requires you going over the Pyrenees,once on the other side you will have even more trouble as there is nothing big enough to take you,,just water channels,dried up river beds (Ramblas) and irrigation lanes,,
