  1. yes, if you cash it on the same bank where your paycheck comes from.

  2. Yes it is.  You can take your check to the issuing bank and have them cash it.  Most banks will ask you for two forms of I.D. and your fingerprint.  Other banks may charge you a fee.  However if the issuing bank cannot cash your check, you can take it to a check cashing place and cash it for a fee.

  3. Yes. In order to do it without having any money taken out, you will have to go to the bank that is on the check. There are other places that charge a fee. I would highly recommend a bank account. You will really need it one day. It is more convenient.

  4. Yes. You will have to go to the bank where the check was issued. They will prob charge you a fee.

You can also go to one of those check cashing places but they will rip you a new one. Their fees may be 40% of the check.

Best to get a bank account. The employer is going to claim you for taxes anyway.

  5. yes...the previous answers cover most of the options.  If you are young and the check is not for a large amount ask your parent or guardian if they will cash it for you.  After you endorse the check (sign on the back) then your parent/guardian can deposit or cash the check at their bank.  But someday you will need a bank account the easiest way is to open an account at the same bank as your parent/guardian (if they have a good banking history).  If you are working for a large store ask if the cashier will cash it for you..some stores do and others do not.

  6. It  may be possible through some private companies, but they will charge you a lot more to do so than it would cost you to transact through your regular bank. Open an account. You always need one anyway.

  7. Walmart cashes checks for $3.00

  8. You can cash it at the bank that it's drawn on (the bank's name has to be on the front of the check).  They may charge you a fee.  Also in a very small handful of states, if you're paid by check the employer has to have an arrangement to cash it for free.

You may be able to cash it at Wal-Mart for a $3 fee if they will accept your employer's check.
