Is it possible to catch a moonbeam?

I need one for a recipe I've found tucked into my great grandmother's cookery book.

It is indeed possible and this is how, first drink a pint of 5 star Methylated spirits, climb to the top of the roof, by this time you will not only see the moonbeam but you will be howling at the moon like a wolf. reach out and grasp to your bossom the afore mentioned beam, clutch tightly and leap from the roof. If you survive the trip and the meths you will discover to your amazement that the beam will be intact and ready for use.

Light from the Moon is no different from any other kind of light. You cannot simply 'catch' light, but you CAN build a device that will use the light's energy for something. If you put a solar panel out at night while the Moon is shining, it will pick up the light and turn it into electricity. The amount of electricity you would get would be very small, much smaller than you could get from the Sun, but if you had enough photoelectric panels aimed at the Moon at once you could power some electrical device such as a lightbulb.
