Well it's particularly easy if you have a cat. But if you don't, simply act like a cat. ex. cats take their time and move very, very slowly, sometimes your "prey" may turn its head and look at you. At this point you are statue, barely daring to breath. If it starts to run away then the chase begins, but you must be willing to go though twigs, move rocks, and search through leaves, for these are their hiding places. If you are not willing to do that, then I suggest a trap and bait. Of course if you intend to keep it as a pet than think about it this way, chipmunks have feelings, friends, and family just as you do. How would you like for everything in the world that you treasured to be taken away from you so that you have no reason left to live or even eat.
