For example Symbian OS on a Sony Ericsson P1i to Windows Mobile... Since many Medical Softwares are compatible with windows.And the Sony P1i has great features and affordable...

  1. No, sorry, not possible.  The OS is very closely integrated to the hardware so a different OS can't work unless it's been specifically tailored for the handheld.

    And supporting Windows Mobile applications directly on other OS... well, that's a big challenge and I don't know anybody who does it yet.

    There is, however, software that lets you run Palm OS applications on Symbian devices.  Check out www.styletap.com - they have a Windows Mobile version (to run Palm apps) and they have either just released -- or are planning to release -- a Symbian version.

    So if the medical software you want to run comes in a Palm OS flavour, you might be in luck.


  2. I know on a palm you can switch from windows to palm os... but not back...
