  1. Not with predictable results.  You can always change the shape of your face by going to Glasgow and knocking over someone's beer.

  2. It sounds like you have a deviated septum.

I have had mine for 35 years now and you can learn to live with it.

I learnt a long time ago that as an artist if a painting looks okay leave it alone - fiddlin with it to make it perfect always ends up in destroying the painting for me.

As in real life, is it really worth having general anaesthetic to straighten the septum when this procedure could end with worse probelms or even loss of life?

I suggest you get a mirror and breathe through your nostrils slowly onto it. If one nostril is not producing enough air I would suggest that surgery may be appropriate - otherwise don't mess with it.

I tried wearing a peg on my nose to bed at night when I was a 7 yr old and it didn't work - only surgery can help.

If you get a blocked nose use a nasal spray that may help.

And a word of advice - don't point it out to anyone - they usually don't notice it until you tell them.

I once had a friend in college that was crying about her large nose saying how she wished her nose was perfect like mine. I put my head back and showed her my septum was larger on one side than the other and she felt better about herself.

The next day at the canteen she told everyone about it and they all went 'oh yes I can see it now - I never would have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out'.

I cried for days then realised she wanted to make herself feel better by putting me down - so remember that your imperfections aren't always noticed by others.

If there is a miracle no-surgery cure please let me know too....lol
