I just got a used bike (bicycle not motor) and it has smooth racing tires (no tread). I want to switch them to ones that are a little more threaded. Not as intense are mountain bike tires but more along beach cruiser type. Is this possible. I know its a simple question but I need help! Thanks

  1. The tread is no problem. But the width of the tire is. Your rim may only handle a ceratin width of tire and your bike's frame may have clearance issues too. Most of the time you can go a size or 2 wider only.

  2. Of course. Write down all the numbers on your current tire, or take it with you, and go to your local bike shop. See what they have that will fit, if you see what you like in your price range, done deal

  3. Need more information, you are not very clear on what you have.

  4. yea its possible. i switch Dirt and street tires on my GT all the time

measure the tire you have, then buy the same size.
