Is it possible to collect taxes for years worked if you have NEVER filed before in your entire life?

I mean, I am up in age now, but i have worked many jobs, but i have never filed taxes!! Is it humanly possible to get cash back?

  1. Nope - only for the last three years.

The only way to get a refund on your tax return, when you have not paid any taxes, is to get a credit.  While you may qualify for a credit such as the Earned Income Credit, you will also owe Social Security and Medicare taxes.  Unless you had a dependent child, no refund would be possible once the SS and Medicare taxes were paid.  You can request a refund up to three years after the due date of the return.  As of now you could request refunds for 2005, 2006, and 2007 only.  Any refund from an earlier year is lost.

    However the IRS can assess income taxes, SS and Medicare taxes on you for any year that you have not filed.

  3. If you had taxes withheld in the last three years, and those are more than what you owed for those years, yes if you file you'd still get any refund you have due for 2005-2007

  4. There is no age requirement to file tax return. You must file if your income exceeds the filing requirement. Even a new born must file if income exceeds the filing requirement.
