  1. yea, if you enroll yourself in some part time college classes.

  2. I teach at a high school that offers a nursing program that you take as a part of your elective classes.  If your school has a medical science class than you should take it.  Many students from the high school graduate with a CNA degree and a high school diploma.  Check with your guidance councilor.  If your school does not offer this check with local community colleges but it is unlikely they will take you if you are a high school student.

  3. Depends on the school. Usually only Government class and algebra classes are allowed to be taken while still in high school. Makes you workload much better later, so go for it:) WOOT WOOT from a fellow nurse:)

  4. Yes. Some places have a Post Secondaryy Education Option where you can take college courses in your Junior and Senior year of high school and your tuition and books are paid for by the program. You have to have a decent GPA, and the courses you take must first fulfill any high school grad requirements you have.

If your high school offers advanced placement courses, sometimes colleges will accept a year-long or half year condensed course in biology, chemistry, etc., and those will count as your pre-requisites. It varies on school to school so you'd need your transcripts evaluated by the college to determine if that works for you.

  5. It can be possible depending on your situation. I would suggest you talk to you H.S. counselor. The counselor will point you in the right  direction for your situation and will help you get into college classes if possible close to you.   Don't do it on your own, get the counselor involved so you can coordinate all your classes together.

(I just read the above posts. Jill is correct- you are wanting to look into Advanced Placement classes - you'll need a great GPA to do this.  The advance placement classes in the sciences will help you with this pre-reqs.  Don't go and take CNA classes in high school -- they won't count for anything towards your nursing pre-reqs and you'll be spending way too much time on courses you don't need to become a nurse.) Talk to your counselor and see what AP classes could count for you.

  6. yes if u have more than enough credits

  7. I'm from Canada and yes there are some Bachelor's programs you can get into right from high school having completed the pre-reqs in high school. That is what I did actually. I took all the advanced level courses I could in high school and took any science courses I could get my hands on. Your best bet is to check with whichever nursing program you are looking at and they would be able to tell you whether they admit straight from high school and if so, what courses you should have. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, let me know! Good Luck!!!
