Is it possible to connect a 4-ch car amp to a home micro system to hook up extra speakers? if so, how?

  1. It is possible, but is it logical?  You would need a 12 volt DC power supply that provides enough current to power the amplifier. Then you need to draw a signal from the micro unit ( aux out ?) to feed the car amp. Then you will need to connect the speakers to the amp. Grounding may be difficult in that I believe many car amps use a chassis ground.  Or you can. All this for a result that's sure to be less then stellar.

    Consider focusing your money and efforts in a more logical solution. If your attempting to save a buck, head to a pawn shop or eBay. Pick up a home receiver that will provide a much better result. Use an aux out or tape out of your new receiver to feed an aux input of the micro system you now have. Now you can drive more speakers with greater control and the proper EQ for a home.
