  1. Most computers don't come standard with a t.v tuner card in them, it is a upgrade item. T.V tuner cards have a Coax input on the back of the card just like the one on the back of your t.v. Look on the back of your computer to see if there is one there. If not, you can buy one for around $ 100 or so . As long as your system meets the minimum requirements you can use it to watch movies on your computer. You will hook your d.v.d player up the same way you would hook it up to your T.V via a coax jumper cable. Check out some on- line computer stores for details.

  2. Yes, but more so... Video cards and Video capture cards.

I'm not an expert on video capture. I'm better at PC to home theater transfer not vise versa.

However it is very possible and I'm sure people below me will explain.

    Good luck

  3. You will need a TV card like 'all in one wonder' or something similar.

  4. Your question is if you can view your dvd and/or HT in the pc monitor ?

Depend on the type of cable your home theater dvd player have you can buy a converter to match the vga port of the monitor so you can view the dvd player and/or home theater in the pc monitor.

here are some examples of rca/s-video  to vga and component to VGA:

If you mean capture the video, a tv tuner card is for viewing tv only in the computer with a software connecting the cable or antenna directly to the pc.

to capture video from dvd player you need a a video capture card and a software to do it and remember that commercial dvd have macrovision on it so you have to find a capture device that can work around this.
