I'm wanting to know if it's possible to convert battery power (such as a large rechargeable battery) into A.C. power for something that uses a wall plug.

  1. yes, they are called inverters. Tyically at the voltages you talking about, 2 to4 mosfet transistors are switched using a pulse width modulation control to convert a DC source to AC.

  2. Sure.  It is called an "Inverter"    Buy at almost any auto parts store

  3. Sure. The device is usually called a "DC Inverter" and they can be found in most truck or RV stores (as a typical use is to convert 12 VDC into 120 VAC in a camper or RV).

  4. Yes, but the problem doing it is that you

need a lot of batteries, or a lot of diesel fuel

    to do it.

Which is mostly why the current day technology

generally prefers using batteries to simple robots,

use simple robots to make computer chips,

use computer chips to make lasers, use lasers

to make advanced A.I, and use advanced A.I

to make diesel fuel. and use the diesel fuel

    to make advanced robots.
